Privacy statement

Safer Stronger Communities (SSC) is committed to compliance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).  SSC will therefore follow procedures that aim to ensure that all employees, volunteers, trustees and partners who have access to any personal data held by or on behalf of SSC, are fully aware of and abide by their duties and responsibilities under the Regulation.

SSC regards the lawful and correct treatment of personal information as very important to its successful operations and will ensure that it treats personal information lawfully and correctly.

We will never sell your personal data, we will only share it with organisations we work with, where necessary. We will only pass on your information to a third party with your permission.

What we may collect

  • Your name
  • Your contact details, e.g. address, email and telephone number
  • Where personal details are required to access funding, we may also collect other information where it is a contractual requirement, such as age, ethnicity, gender, employment status, qualifications held etc.

How we collect this information

  • Through an authorised referral from another organisation (where support or access to funding is required)
  • Completion of a form on our website
  • In person, by phone or email
  • Through the completion of an Individual Learner Record (ILR)
  • Through the completion of a due diligence process, following a successful request to join SSC

What we do with the information we gather

For SSC membership:

  • Invite you to partnership meetings and events
  • Keep you information of news and funding opportunities
  • Use to comply with legal requirements and regulations

For individuals accessing support:

  • Pass on or report back to funding organisations – please note we will always inform you where we are contractually obliged to pass on this information to organisations that provide funding that allows you to access support.

Disclosure

We will only disclose information where it has a legal duty to do so, such as:

  • Safeguarding concerns
  • Court orders
  • In order to prevent crime or fraud
  • If there are serious risks to the public, SSC staff or other professionals
  • Where it is believed that an illegal act has taken place which needs to be reported to the appropriate authorities
  • Drug trafficking, money laundering, acts of terrorism or treason will be disclosed to the police

Accessing data

You can request copies of the personal data we hold on you, by request, by emailing enquiries@saferstronger.com.

Withdrawing consent

If you wish to withdraw permissions for us to use your data, please inform us by emailing enquiries@saferstronger.com. Please note that where we are contractually obliged to hold this data for the purposes of accessing funding, services provided from this funding may be affected if consent is withdrawn.

Making a complaint

You can complain to SSC direct by emailing enquiries@saferstronger.com.

If you are not happy with the response, or believe that you data protection or privacy rights have been infringed, you can contact the UK Information Commissioner’s Office which regulates and enforces data protection law in the UK.
